Hi, I’m Ashley, a Marriage and Family Therapist, AMFT, with Clear Mind Counseling San Diego. I work with adults seeking support through life’s challenges, transitions, and opportunities for personal growth.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, and I believe feeling understood is an important part of that process. My approach is warm, authentic, collaborative, and person-centered. I strive to create a space where you can explore your experiences without judgment while gaining practical tools and insight to create meaningful change.
My clinical approach draws from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Client-Centered Therapy. I help clients recognize patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, understand how those patterns may be affecting their lives, and develop healthier and more effective ways of responding. When working with trauma, I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to support healing and help clients move forward with greater understanding and self-compassion.
I also enjoy working with couples and draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method to help partners better understand their relationship patterns, strengthen communication, and build deeper connection. I help couples identify patterns that may be contributing to conflict or disconnection and work toward creating a stronger sense of safety, understanding, and partnership.
My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, practical coping skills, and confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges. In our work together, you can expect active listening, openness, compassion, a sense of humor, and genuine respect for your unique experiences. We will collaborate to identify meaningful goals and practical steps toward creating lasting change both inside and outside of the therapy room.

MY APPROACH
MY PHILOSOPHY ON THE THERAPEUTIC EXPERIENCE AND CHANGE
I believe meaningful change begins with feeling understood and having a space where you can be open and honest about what you are experiencing. Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand yourself and recognize patterns in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships that may be keeping you feeling stuck or dissatisfied.
I also believe insight is most powerful when it leads to action. Together, we will build on your existing strengths while developing practical tools and more effective ways of responding to life’s challenges. My role is to provide support, perspective, and guidance while helping you build the confidence and skills to create meaningful change in your everyday life.
Therapy looks different for everyone, and our work will reflect your individual needs, strengths, values, and goals. Together, we will work toward helping you feel more confident in navigating challenges, more connected in your relationships, and better equipped to create a life that feels fulfilling and aligned with who you want to be.
