Hello, it’s wonderful to meet you. My name is Jociea, though many people call me “Jo”, and I’m part of Clear Mind’s San Diego therapy team I work with individuals, couples, and adolescents who are seeking meaningful, lasting change, and I strive to create a space where people feel seen and supported while also helping people create meaningful change and achievement of goals.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I commonly support clients navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and trauma. I also draw from Family Systems Theory and Narrative Therapy, which allow us to explore how personal history, relationships, and life experiences shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.
In our work together, I help clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns while also building on the strengths they already have. Whether we are working through a current challenge or exploring deeper patterns, my goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and self-understanding.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, from children to adults, and I value meeting each person where they are. I believe therapy is most effective when it feels collaborative, grounded, and genuinely human.
In addition to my clinical work, I care deeply about the connection between individual healing and the broader systems we live in. I aim to bring a steady, thoughtful presence to each session, while contributing to a practice culture that prioritizes collaboration, high-quality care, and authentic connection.

MY PHILOSOPHY ON THE THERAPEUTIC EXPERIENCE AND CHANGE
I believe that meaningful change occurs when we bridge the gap between understanding our past and taking intentional action in our present. While insight into our history is valuable, staying fixated solely on "why" we struggle can lead to stagnation. My approach is rooted in the belief that by shifting our current patterns of thought and behavior, we fundamentally transform how we feel and how we view our place in the world.
When working with me, you are guided toward intentional living through a blend of evidence-based strategies and systemic support. Drawing from multiple modalities, I provide a clear, collaborative blueprint that takes the guesswork out of the growth process. By focusing on actionable change and emotional regulation, we work together to find relief from anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, and the weight of high-acuity stress.
My clinical perspective is uniquely informed by Family Systems and Narrative Therapy. This means I don't just see you in isolation; I view you within the context of your relationships, your history, and the larger systems you navigate. My passion for achieving whole health ensures that we aren't just treating symptoms, but are also addressing the external barriers and relational dynamics that impact your well-being.
My style is grounded, engaging, and approachable. I believe that a therapeutic relationship is built on a foundation of honesty, transparency, and genuine human connection. I am dedicated to providing a safe, trauma-informed space where I can offer gentle encouragement while remaining direct and goal-oriented when necessary. My goal is to empower you with the tools and perspective needed to break through personal barriers, leaving you feeling optimistic and equipped to lead a more fulfilled life.
