Hi, I’m Val — I look forward to meeting you.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples through life’s many challenges.
My therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, direct, and collaborative. I provide a safe and supportive space where clients feel truly seen, heard, understood, and empowered. In my practice, I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, OCD, life transitions, divorce, relationships challenges, career challenges, self-esteem issues, ADHD coaching, women’s issues, grief, death/dying, emergency services, and Military.
I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Attachment Theory. My clients are able to identify negative thought patterns, faulty core beliefs, and barriers that prevent them from becoming the highest versions of themselves.
I help my client’s identify how past childhood wounds impact their current relationships. The emotional bonds between a child and their primary caregiver significantly impact their development and future relationships. These bonds, or attachments, are believed to be essential for survival, emotional well-being, and social-cognitive development. I work with individuals navigating the complexities of their past and present experiences, helping them develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, and healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

MY PHILOSOPHY ON THE THERAPEUTIC EXPERIENCE AND CHANGE
At the core of my philosophy, is the holistic belief that wellness is an integrative state-that encourages optimal well-being in mind, body, and soul. I view my client as a whole person, considering their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Recognizing the foundational role of sleep, exercise, diet, self-care, and social connections is a dynamic balance. This philosophy emphasizes the importance of balance and harmony between these different aspects to promote overall health and healing. Life's too short to stay stuck in survival mode. I can help you find relief and start loving your life!
