Thank you for stopping by. My name is Jonathan, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m part of Clear Mind Counseling’s San Diego therapy team, where I support individuals who are seeking growth, healing, and meaningful personal transformation.
I was drawn to the field of mental health because, at its core, psychotherapy is a journey rather than a destination. I believe deeply in each person’s capacity for growth and change, and I’m committed to walking alongside clients as they move toward their own unique transformation. My work is grounded in compassion, kindness, and a genuine desire to help alleviate suffering.
Reaching out for support when you’re struggling is one of the most courageous steps you can take. Our experiences shape who we are and influence every part of our lives — from our sense of self-worth and inner peace to our relationships and personal pursuits. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore these experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with greater clarity and hope.

MY PHILOSOPHY ON THE THERAPEUTIC EXPERIENCE AND CHANGE
My approach to therapy begins with curiosity, compassion, and a bit of humor (because sometimes a good laugh can make all the difference). Together, we will explore the parts of you that may feel anxious, depressed, depleted, overwhelmed, worthless, scared, or alone. We'll do this with gentleness and warmth in a way that feels safe and supportive, making space for both the tears and the laughter.
Humans have a belief system that can impact their world and directly influence their behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. I believe that while pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. Together, we can work to heal those parts that experience suffering. In our sessions, we'll bring awareness to any maladaptive beliefs and learn how to cultivate self-compassion, helping you change unwanted behaviors and achieve the desired transformation.
I provide a safe and nurturing environment where you can work on your traumas at your own pace. Whether it's through mindfulness of how our emotions are experienced in the body, experiential exercises, guided meditations, or grounding techniques, we will find what works best for you.
Through our work together, you will learn skills that will help you grow in compassionate awareness of your inner experience, empowering you to move forward in a way that aligns with your hopes and values. Let’s embark on this journey together and find the healing and peace you deserve.
Ensuring a good fit between therapist and client is crucial for successful therapy. We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we're a good match. Taking this FIRST step to seek support is important, and we are honored to guide you on your path towards healing and personal growth.
